24 X 7 Online Office FAQs

How do I reserve your services?

You can reserve a DJ for your event by calling our office at any of our listed numbers or completing our contact form in our 24-7 Online Office section of this site.

How much do you charge?

Call or contact us thorugh our 24-7 Online Office for a rate quote.

Should we tip our DJ?

Gratuities are neither required nor expected but greatly appreciated.

What do I need to provide?

We need a 6’ or 8' table for most events.  For more formal events, please remember that the proper table linens and table skirting will give a more pleasing appearance.

For best results, we recommend placing the DJ as close to the dancing area as possible.

Your DJ will require an area roughly 10’ wide by 6’ deep.  We will also need two 15 amp electrical circuits within 20 feet of our table.

When will my DJ arrive?

Your DJ will arrive approximately 45 minutes prior to the start of your event.  This allows your DJ to set up and check equipment before your guests arrive.  Set-up time is included in our rates.

What will the DJ wear?

The DJ will dress appropriate to your event.  For weddings and formal corporate events, the DJ will either wear a tuxedo or coat and tie, whichever you prefer.  For more informal events, your DJ will wear business casual attire.

Will our DJ make announcements?

Yes!  Unless you tell us otherwise, we do a lot more than play music at your event.  We are comfortable with the role of “Master of Ceremonies” and will be happy to make all of the important and necessary announcements.

For weddings, we typically announce:  Arrival of Bridal Party, Bridal Toast, Cake Cutting, Meal Service, Special Dances, Garter/Bouquet and More!

For private events, we typically announce:  Special Guests, Door Prizes, Meal Service, General Policies, Games/Contests, and More!

Will the DJ stay longer if needed?

Generally, overtime is not a problem, especially if your DJ does not have a commitment following your event.  Overtime should be discussed with your DJ prior to the conclusion of your contracted time.  The fee for additional time should be a mutually agreed upon rate between you and your DJ.

What Kind Of Music Do You Play?

That’s easy… whatever you and your guests want to hear.  At every event, we bring thousands of songs from the 1940’s to the current Top 40.  You can put together a request list in advance to give us a general idea of what you want to hear, or allow your DJ to play to the tastes and requests of your guests.

Can I Create a Music Play List?

Yes!  Using our online planner, you can search our library by song title or artists, and then add songs to one of three customized play lists (Must Play, Play If Possible, and Do Not Play).  Feel free to look through our searchable online database at any time

Here’s some musical advice:  For a great party or reception, your DJ needs the freedom to read the crowd and make adjustments to the music programming as necessary.  Don’t try and program music for your entire event.  Trust us as professionals to select the right mix for you and your crowd.

Can I choose my DJ?

Yes, you can PREFER or RESERVE any of Bristol Sound’s DJs.  When you prefer a certain DJ, we make every effort to schedule that DJ for your event.  In order to reserve a specific DJ, we will contact the DJ and confirm their commitment for your event. There is an additional charge for this option.

Can I see the DJ perform live?

When possible, we can schedule you to see a DJ perform.  However, sometimes this is not an option based on the events and the venues.  We are happy to provide references and testimonials for you to review.

Are You Insured?

Yes.  For the safety of you and your guest, we carry a $1,000,000 liability insurance policy on every event.  This policy covers you and your guests in the unlikely event that you would be physically injured due directly to negligence on our behalf.
